Despite the pandemic and not having a place to sew for quite a while, Firehouse Quilts members managed to make and donate 1,717 quilts in 2021. Four of the quilt collections took place outside in both hot and cold conditions in a parking lot or a board member’s driveway. We were fortunate to have the use of a church to meet for a few actual sew days when quilts were collected. Throughout the year, there were 35 deliveries of 1,692 quilts to 21 agencies such as fire departments, shelters, hospitals, and human services departments.
The membership should be proud of their dedication and perseverance while dealing with not always the best circumstances. You are all greatly appreciated.
