Firehouse Quilts has formed a new relationship with Chief Gary A. and Human Resources Director Susie A. of the Central City Fire Department. On August 27th a delivery of 18 quilts was made to the historic Central City fire station which was established in 1869. The department is comprised of mostly volunteers as well as the paid chief and one paid firefighter. They cover a 35 square mile district and are prepared for an assortment of calls such as auto accidents, medical calls, fires, and domestic violence situations. Gary and Susie were kind enough to treat the FHQ ladies to a delicious lunch at the Century Casino Restaurant. Mary, Christine, and Jacque finished off their mountain trip by snooping in one of the many historic cemeteries at the edge of town. Thank you to Tobias T. for making this new relationship possible.
