Douglas County’s Eagle Academy High School in Lone Tree recently received eight large quilts. The quilts will go to students who are either homeless or “couch surfing” and in need of help. Eagle Academy is a school for students seeking an alternative path to earning their high school diploma. They must work in the mornings and then attend classes in the afternoon and evenings. The school has 150 students, ages 16 – 22, who are working on their education. The school tries to nurture confidence and applaud the determination of the student. Diane F, a counselor, accepted the quilts that will be donated to the students.
