Nearly a dozen members of Firehouse Quilts helped to wrap Christmas gifts for the children of Shiloh House on December 19th. The gifts are handed out to the group homes where the children live and also given to those in need at the last minute. Some of these children have never experienced the joy of opening their own gifts on Christmas morning so it’s important that Shiloh House receives gifts from donors every year. The gifts come through Giving Tree projects, churches, and private parties. The FHQ ladies have a fun time seeing the gifts as well as trying to find the appropriate boxes to wrap them in. It can be a challenge with large stuffed toys and lamps. Every child receives a quilt, pillow case and stocking made especially for them by Firehouse Quilts. This year we donated 107 quilts to Shiloh House as well as 86 pillow cases, 13 bags, 30 stockings, 23 knitted scarves, and 16 crocheted warm hats.
