On September 15th, thirty five members of Firehouse Quilts met for their first sew day at Above and Beyond Sewing in over 18 months, due to Covid restrictions. It was great to gather as a group in familiar surroundings and have the necessary supplies available to be used by everyone. There were 194 quilts turned in and viewed during the bed turning. Cheryl H generously donated 75 quilts that had been made by 4H members in another state. In addition to the quilts, there were 12 pillow cases, 11 BACA bags, 11 flannel receiving blankets, and 8 crocheted blankets turned in.
The total number of quilts turned in during 2021 now totals 1,494 and there have been 957 donated to hospitals, fire departments, and human services departments.
