Firehouse Quilts delivered 23 snuggle quilts, 2 lap quilts, 1 fleece blanket, 1 tote bag, and 80 plus stuffed animals to Southbridge Rec Center for their Sweetheart Dance which was held on February 24, 2017. This dance is for developmentally challenged teens and young adults. It is a very popular and well attended event. Our quilts are used as prizes for the kids.
The delivery was made by Susan H. and Carolyne G. Summer A., the Therapeutic Recreation Coordinator for Southbridge Rec, was there to receive the quilts and stuffed animals, along with Alison, one of the teens. Both Summer and Alison were thrilled to get so many beautiful quilts, and are excited for the dance.
