Several deliveries were made in December to agencies requesting quilts. One of them was made on December 14th to Arvada Fire and Rescue. Amber, Michelle, and Deanna, who are members of Arvada Fire, received quilts from Barbara C., Christie, and Alice. They are always thrilled to receive quilts from Firehouse and proudly display a “fire” themed quilt on the walls of their Administration Building.
Another delivery was made to Douglas/Elbert County Task Force in Castle Rock. On December 16th, Jacque S. delivered 40 quilts to Jenny, the Deputy Director, and Joanie, a Case Worker. The quilts will be given to newborns and small children from families who are in financial crisis or may become homeless. Two times a year Firehouse donates to the Task Force and the quilts are welcomed by grateful families in need.
The final delivery for 2016 of 65 quilts was made to Child Safe in Fort Collins. Sara V. delivered quilts that will be used in outpatient therapy for children who have been victims of sexual abuse. Child Safe provides programs for groups, individuals, and families in need of therapy. Child Safe accepts donations of quilts from Firehouse Quilts at least three times a year.
