A large group of members from FHQ recently made a trip to Hamilton, Missouri for a retreat at the Missouri Star Quilt Company. Joining these members were relatives, friends and a group from Holly’s Quilt Cabin. A great time was had by everyone during their time in Hamilton. There were so many fabric shops to see that a person needed to pace themselves over a couple of days. A trip was also made to Jamesport, which is the largest old order Amish settlement west of the Mississippi.
A highlight of the trip was meeting Jenny Doan, the founder of Missouri Star Quilt Company, and her husband. She was gracious enough to take the time to visit the sewing center to visit with everyone and take photographs. Her energy is contagious and she created many smiles. We all send a big thank you to Jenny.
