On June 18th the members of Firehouse Quilts were treated to a pizza lunch complete with salad, cupcakes, drinks, and beautiful roses. The meal was served at the sew day by Karen, Joe, Lynn and Jan, who work or volunteer for the Limb Preservation Foundation. This annual event is a way to express their thanks to the FHQ members who work to provide Limb with over 150 quilts a year for the patients who are threatened with loss or repair of a limb and must spend many weeks in the hospital. A donation of 37 quilts was made to Limb during the sew day. The donated quilts are personally selected for each patient by the Limb staff or volunteers after they have been asked what their likes of colors and hobbies might be. The Firehouse Quilts ladies appreciate being spoiled in such a wonderful way.
