On May 3rd, there were 75 quilts and 12 crocheted baby hats delivered to Marisol Home in Lakewood. The shelter provides a safe and caring emergency interim home for mothers with children and also expectant mothers. The shelter is currently housing 14 mothers and 35 children, including newborns. The staff at the shelter help the women to integrate back into the community by offering a safe environment, counseling, job training, and quality child care services. While in secure housing the counselors are able to place the Moms on a road to stability. This delivery was arranged through Linda L, who is the Operations Manager, and the quilts were accepted by Cynthia, the Programs Director.
