The volunteer members were shown wonderful gratitude at the last sew day of the year. Joe G, from the Limb Preservation Foundation made a surprise visit and brought hot chocolate, coffee, and delicious donuts with him. Joe visits the FHQ sew days a couple of times a year to thank the members for the quilts that are made for the patients at Presbyterian Hospital’s Limb Preservation Ward. The ladies are always thrilled to receive such thoughtful and tasty treats.
The second guest to come to the sew day was Summer A, who is the Therapeutic Recreation Coordinator for the Highlands Ranch Community Association. She brought a packet full of thank you cards, notes, and photos from the participants who attended the special needs Halloween dance in October. The young people who receive the quilts and bags from FHQ are always appreciative and never forget to give their thanks to the members. Summer has been gracious enough to always hand deliver the cards and photos during our sew days.
