In late March, Pat B, a member of Firehouse Quilts, took a supply of quilts to the Mountain Resource Center in Conifer. They work in conjunction with the Mountain Peace Shelter where the quilts will be donated to mothers and children staying at the shelter. Mountain Peace Shelter provides emergency shelter, advocacy and support services for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking/relationship crimes. The shelter covers 2,700 square miles encompassing all of Park County and the mountain communities of Jefferson County. Women and their children can stay 30 days at the shelter and receive counseling, education and support.
