In the second quarter of 2018, FHQ received funds from many assorted organizations and people. A grant from Colorado Quilting Council in the amount of $500.00 and money from the King Soopers Rewards Program totaling $775.00 were welcomed and greatly appreciated. There was a corporate donation from Amazon Smile for $25.14 which comes from them donating 1% of all sales from shoppers who are signed up for their non-profit rewards program. The Western Union Foundation has a matching gift program for their employees, and because of that FHQ member Christine T. turned 50 hours of volunteering into a $500.00 gift. Four members and one private party donated $970.00 to Firehouse Quilts. All of these donations totaled $2,770.14. It warms our hearts to know that so many care about our mission of making quilts for children in crisis. Because of them we are able to make beautiful quilts like the ones turned in at our last sew day.
In addition to the monetary donations during this quarter, FHQ also received an in-kind donation of 439.5 yards of fabric from an anonymous donor. This wonderful child themed fabric will help to create hundreds of quilts in the future.
