Donations at the Firehouse Quilt Sew Day, October 19, 2017, started slow but turned into a big bonanza for the organizations we contribute to. By the end, we had collected 57 quilts to be donated to children in crisis, adults in neuro-rehabilitation, young adults with developmental disabilities, people with limb threatening conditions, and youths recovering from abuse and trauma. More than 30 volunteers showed up to drop off quilts and work on more projects. We also learned about two generous monetary donations, which will help us continue our mission to wrap hurting people in the warmth of a quilt made just for them.
