The recent sew day was filled with so much action that it was hard to keep track of what was going on. One of the most exciting things was that there were 62 quilts turned in by the most caring and productive group of volunteers around. The total number of quilts made during 2018 now stands at 1,223. An anonymous person donated 12 large bags of children’s fabrics which was truly an early Christmas gift to our group. The storage cabinets are so full that some of the fabric is being stored in bags. The Colorado Quilting Council donated a beautiful blue and white quilt to FHQ at a recent guild meeting and it is being donated to a child in crisis. At the end of the meeting, Summer, who is a Team Leader of the Highlands Ranch therapeutic outreach program, visited to present us with thank you notes for the quilts that FHQ donated to their Halloween dance. She also brought along Chris, who received one of the quilts and wanted to give us his thank you personally. What a fun and exhausting day it was!
